The Two Helpers

Helna was stuffing books into shelves at the end of the day, working quickly. She anted to finish and begin reading, but she knew she had to do this right, or it would never get done right. After a couple more minutes, she places the last book, how to train a puppy, into the shelf. Letting out a sigh of relief, she sits down at the table, bringing her usual book. She plops it on the table and flips it to where she left off and begins reading.

Cinis comes in a few minutes after everything is cleaned up, still slow with her newly acquired crutches. Her injured leg hangs uselessly in it's cast and she brings herself along with her crutches, scowling around the library to see who was there. Her eyes lock on Helna for a second and she sighs, Helna wasn't mean or a hassle to be around, just boring. "Sup' Helna?" Cinis says with a nod of her head toward one of the few 'nerds' in the school, Helna Vanspihizen.

Helna lets out a small sigh and looks up from her book. Looking up she sees one of the typical students at this school. What was her name again? "Oh, Hey... Um... Cinis." Helna draws out, eventually remembering her name. The only reason she remembered was because she was the school mascot. She opens her mouth as if she's about to say something, but immediately closes it when she notices the cast. "Oh my god, what happened to your leg?" She says with tone full of concern.

Cinis looks down at her leg and raises an eyebrow, putting on a tiny act like she had no idea for a moment before she uses her crutches to walk over to Helna's table, more or less dumping herself into a chair. "Fun story, the Asolum class president shattered my femur with this...sword, bamboo thing. Hurt like a bitch but she got hers." Cinis says, looking down at the cast, a bit dirty from the school, several insults and crude drawings marked onto it from various people, probably from when Cinis was asleep.

"It's called a Shinai" Helna says immediately, blushing afterword. "She broke you leg? For what, what you do that made her want to break your leg?" She asks, still confused from the scenario. "And what did she look like, did she give a name?" She asks, not connecting the dots of the class president and Sira.

"Nerd...and I may have shot at her a few times, but she was a sadistic twat and was probably gonna break my leg anyway...Her name was Sira, the class president of Asolum." Cinis repeats with added emphasis, rolling her eyes and sitting back in her chair. "But yeah, I hope one of ym bullets injured her, and she..." Cinis trails off and eyes her suspiciously. "Never mind. Forget what I said."

Helna bites her lip and her eyes widen at the mention of Sira.  "Oh, Sira? I don't think i've met her..." She says quietly.  "Why-Why were you shooting at her?" She whimpers, very afraid of the crippled person in front of her now.  "Did-Did she see you doing something I-llegal?" She whispers, as if she could get caught and punished just for saying that.

Cinis raises an eyebrow as she looks Helna up and down, eyes hardening for a second before merely shrugging it off. "You should really stop asking so many questions, I don't do illegal things, I have that gun for personal protection." Cinis says with a smile and rests back in her chair. "That rich bitch just hates kids from Lunerium and she was trying to tell me I was doing something when I really wasn't, even tried to rob me of my bag, so when she pulled out her...shinai, then I had to fight back."

"Oh... well we all know that Asolum kids have it out for us..." She tries to play off, hoping she wouldn't notice how much she was shaking. "So, did the doctors say how long you'll have to wear that cast for?" She says, quickly trying to change the subject.

"She snapped the bone and it shattered around the uh, impact site, so it'll take almost 3 fucking months to heal..." Cinis says with a hint of anger, smacking her fist down on the table and making a loud cracking noise, though neither the table nor Cinis seem particularly hurt by it, but Cinis is fuming at this point. It was moderately well known that Cinis was one of the more important (and vicious) hockey players for Lunerium, so it makes sense when she says "I'm not gonna be able to play on the team for three months, and I might never be as good as I was..."

"Well, you should be able to play again. Bones can usually heal back to their complete normal state. And the places that heal are usually stronger than the bone that was there before." She says blushing slightly, a little embarrassed by her mass knowledge. "What you have to worry about is if she tore any of your leg muscles, or damaged them in any way, for that matter." She pauses to breathe for a couple seconds. "Muscle injury is one of the min reasons sport players retire." Helna looks down at the cast, examining it. "So, did they say anything about the muscle?"

"I think they mentioned something, they pretty much just rushed me in, figured out what was wrong and sent me out with a set leg and a cast...free clinics kind of suck." Cinis muses with a shake of her head, running a hand through her short-ish red hair and slumping down on the table a bit. "I think my main problem is not being able to move around the halls normally, I feel weird, almost like a target for people...that's just me being paranoid though." Soon she looks over her shoulder but shrugs and pushes her crutches so they're lying flat on the floor.

Helna actually laughed a bit. "You a target? That's hilarious, I don't think anyone would mess with you. You're a hockey player, how would anyone try and mess with you?" She laughs again at the thought. "If you want I can help you around, as I recently just got a lot more free time, and I don't really have anything to do with it." she casually asks, straitening her back against the chair.

"A crippled hockey player." Cinis corrects with a quick shake of her head. Cinis considers the girl's offer for a few mometnts before nodding once, a smile creeping across her face, leaning back n her chair and tipping it onto the back two legs. "You mean that? I think I'll take you up on it."

"Yeah, well I have a lot of free time and I got nothing else to do." Helna says with a slight smile. She begins tapping her fingers on the table. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you decide to be a library assistant? You don't really seem like a reader..." She says, ceasing to tap her fingers.

"Well fuck you too buddy." Cinis replies with a good-humored laugh and shrugs. "Why not? I mean, it's a free credit and all I have to do is sit here and hang out for a while. Usually I just text. AndI do read sometimes, so don't just assume things." Cinis replies, flipping a bit of hair out of her face and looking around the empty library. "Why'd you do it?"

"Well, mostly because I enjoy reading and it's a quiet place I can do it, without interruptions." She says, gesturing to the absence of sound in the library. "Also, as you said, it's pretty easily obtained credits, organizing books isn't really that hard, but whatever?" She scratches her arm for a few seconds. "Oh, and sorry for assuming that you're not the reading type." She says with a slight blush.

Cinis listens with mild interest, leaning back in her chair all of the way and almost falling, her chair falling back onto all fours with a rather loud *bang* that sounds throughout the library. Cinis gives Helna a once-over before looking at the door. "Yo, you say you wanted to help me out? You got a car, or a bike or anything like that?" Cinis asks, grinning a little now, clearly up to something.

Helna nearly fell out of her chair when she heard the loud bang caused by Cinis' chair slamming. Re-adjusting her self to her latter position before she got frightened. She gave Cinis an odd look as she asked her the question. "Um yeah, I have a bicycle, why do you need it for something?" She asks hesitantly, unsure of Cinis' mischievous doings.

Cinis snorts at the fact that Helna freaked out more than she did when her own chair fell down. "I just need you to take me to some of the richer neighborhoods, and maybe I can get you to start delivering books for me." Cinis lies easily, not about needing a ride somewhere, but about what the nerdy girl would be delivering. "So, how about it? Think you could give me a ride uptown?"

Helna blushes slightly from the act that Cinis noticed her jump.  "Well, if you're just delivering books, I don't see a reason why I can't ride you there." She reluctantly stammers, tapping the desk nervously.  "And, uh.. Why exactly are you delivering books?" She asks, unsure of Cinis' motives, not because she didn't trust her, it was the fact she didn't understand why books need to be delivered, but she wouldn't ask her too many questions. Cinis has yet to do anything that would deem her untrustworthy.

"It's a school fundraiser, duh. Haven't you heard? The school is renting out books to kids around the neighborhood that can't get any at home, and don't come to the school. We also have quite a few books that Asolum doesn't, so I might need you to bring things up in that direction." Cinis lies easily. She thinks for a bit before tilting her head at the other library aide. "Say, do you know how you would find someone's house wtihout really knowing the address? That girl Sira ordered some, and I didn't want to bring them myself, so I need you to do that delivery, but I'll come along just in case. If you can find her that is."

"Oh, I've never heard of the fundraiser but i'll take your word for it..." She replies, feeling dumb for not hearing about it. "Oh, Sira ordered books? I know where she lives. Or at least the general area of where she lives..." She says, whispering the last part. "Do you want to ride over there?" She asks timidly.

"Hell yeah, I got the bag right in my dorm room. Come out to the front of the school, I'll meet you there in a moment." Cinis says, getting up awkwardly,, struggling with her crutches, banging her broken leg against the table and stifling a pained whimper. She goes out of the library before the other assistant can really respond and makes her way to her dorm room, gathering a few materials, namely a switch blade, a bottle of laundry detergent, a box of matches, and a hammer. Fun times!

Helna tries to say something but doesn't get the chance to, as Cinis had already walked out of the room. She sighs to herself as she gets out of the chair and walks out of the front o the building. She then walks to the bike rack and unlocks the chain that keeps her bike from disappearing. She gets on it, rides to the front o the building and waits for Cinis.
